tum le'be' or the General Bureau, also known as Klingon Imperial Intelligence, was the intelligence gathering agency of the Klingon Empire. Administered by its Operations Master (pIn'a'yaHnIv), the organization worked to collect and analyze information concerning both the internal and external enemies of the Empire.
History[]
By the time of the Last Federation-Klingon War, K'men served as operations master. During the war he tasked the organization with developing technologies to combat the United Federation of Planets and its Starfleet. Before being put into use against the Federation, these tools were repurposed under the Khitomer Alliance to combat the Terran Empire.[1]
Organization[]
The agency had several divisions, with the two primary being the Galactic Research Unit (qIbQul ghom) and the Maximum Veracity Directorate ('aqroS vIt loH). The Galactic Research Unit was attached to the Deep Space Fleet of the Klingon Defense Force. Its personnel were responsible for aggregating, filtering, and reporting on the plethora of information gathered by the starships venturing beyond the Empire’s borders. The Maximum Veracity Directorate was the equivalent for the KDF's Internal Security Force.
Training of new operatives and agents occurred on a world known only as "Honor's End" (batlh baq).
The agency had two special operations units: House Pegh (pegh tuq) and House Qulekgh (Qu’legh tuq). Field agents worked under the division known as Blades of the Bat'leth (betleH 'etlhmey), which managed the extreme measures used by the Empire to spy on its enemies. One of the most extreme was the species reassignment protocol (choH'a'). Those spies that have undergone the surgeries are allocated vitamin pills (tuQloS) to overcome the deficiencies of foreign diets.
